History about Fotos de Guatemala:

It was born in 1998 as a non profit website with the only purpose of sharing the pictures with the world. Soon, the variety of angles and the diversity of places made visitors started asking for more pictures and also, to make them available for download and use in printed books and magazines. Then the site growed to become what it is right now.

It was also the first website about pictures from Guatemala (by a guatemalan photographer: Héctor Roldán) to feature a e-commerce style website, allowing you to obtain the images without waiting.

The amount of visitors and the obvious needs of such website demanded the pictures to be on sale for a small price. This is only to ensure the existance of the website and to pay the expenses of the photography work.

The mission is still the same: to share Guatemala with the world.

La cantidad de visitantes y las obvias necesidades de un sitio tan grande demandó pronto que las fotografías se dispusieran a la venta a un precio bajo, con el único propósito de asegurar la continuidad de este sitio web y pagar los gastos de operación en cuanto a fotografía.

La misión es aún la misma: compartir Guatemala con el mundo.
